On November 4, 2015, Yu Zhongxing, General Manager of Shanghai Cisco Statistical Quality Consulting Co., Ltd., was invited to give a lecture titled "Mass Innovation and DOE" for the 2015 cohort of the Master’s program in Applied Statistics. The speaker, Mr. Yu Zhongxing, is a senior member of the China Quality Association, Shanghai Quality Association, and China Standardization Association, as well as an executive director of the Experimental Design Branch of the China Statistical Research Association. He has many years of experience in the field of statistical technology application and quality management and has published over 60 academic papers on statistical quality management.

General Yu's report mainly included three aspects. First, it shared some cutting-edge and hot topics discussed at the "2015 International Academic Symposium on Big Data and Experimental Design". Secondly, General Yu introduced a new emerging method in the DOE field – the Factor Trend Method, demonstrating its intuitiveness and efficiency in solving DOE problems through examples. Finally, General Yu proposed an Excel implementation method for DOE, which reduced the economic burden on enterprises and significantly enhanced the data analysis level of DOE.

After the report, the students asked questions related to the DOE field. Mr. Yu addressed everyone’s doubts with his extensive experience in statistical techniques and quality management. The successful conduct of the lecture not only enriched everyone’s understanding of the cutting-edge topics in the DOE field but also provided a new perspective on its practical application in enterprises.
