The 109th lecture of "Industry Forum"

On March 12, 2024, our institute invited Mr. Zhang Hongbing from Daoke Technology to give a lecture at an industry forum on the theme of "Digital Infrastructure for New Quality Productivity - Cloud Native Technology".


Teacher Zhang first shared a topic closely related to technological development - the digital infrastructure of new quality productivity, and explored its evolution process from the perspective of the underlying logic of technology. In the current era, many cutting-edge technologies such as AI, blockchain, cloud computing, big data, edge computing and 5G constitute the core components of mental productivity. Teacher Zhang talked about "cloud native", which means that future digital architectures, application development, and operations will be designed and implemented based on the cloud.





Subsequently, Teacher Zhang talked about the evolution of IT systems and technological development trends. According to an IDC report, by the end of 2023, there will be over 500 million applications built on the cloud, and by 2025, it is expected that more than 95% of new applications will be generated and run in the cloud. Teacher Zhang used ChatGPT as an example to illustrate how OpenAI utilizes Microsoft Cloud's 7500 node cluster, equipped with A100 chips, and utilizes the Kubernetes framework for resource management and optimization to build a complex and efficient system architecture. He fully explained the advantages of cloud native technology to all students.


In addition, Teacher Zhang further elaborated on the application value of cloud native technology through the case of bank payment systems. In high concurrency scenarios like Singles' Day, traditional banking transaction systems designed with fixed capacity cannot cope with the sudden surge in user demand. To solve this problem, cloud native technology can be used to achieve system resilience and scalability proportional to pressure, ensuring smooth processing of a large number of user payment requests during peak periods.


Teacher Zhang pointed out that with the continuous development of information technology, cloud native technology has become an important cornerstone for promoting digital transformation in various industries. It not only maximizes the technological advantages of cloud computing, but also demonstrates strong and flexible vitality in practical application scenarios. In the future, more applications and services will be restructured and innovated with the support of cloud native technology, shaping a new form of digital economy.


Afterwards, Teacher Zhang introduced the cloud native open source community to everyone through a series of numbers. The Cloud Native Open Source Community is built and operated by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, with billions of code builds and support for hundreds of projects worldwide. At the same time, he also encourages everyone to use the open source community more, collaborate with technical personnel from various countries on open source, and contribute their own strength to open source projects. In addition, he briefly introduced the international certification certificate for cloud native skills and its assessment methods.


Finally, Teacher Zhang introduced us to the application of cloud native technology in various industries. In the financial industry, it can build a financial PaaS platform to empower fintech, provide high-performance, high timeliness, dynamic scalability, and disaster recovery capabilities, and promote financial technology innovation. In the education industry, cloud native technology can build an Internet entrepreneurship campus support platform, deliver development best practices, define application delivery standards, and achieve application lifecycle management independent of technology stack. In the government industry, cloud native technology can build a cloud native government system support platform, achieving efficient and agile digital transformation of government affairs. Overall, cloud native technology can provide stable, high-performance, agile, and scalable support capabilities in various industries, driving innovation and development in the industry.





During the questioning session, students raised questions about the impact of cloud native technology on data processing and how to improve job competitiveness. Teacher Zhang provided excellent answers based on his own experience, encouraging students to learn more about industry information, dare to try and make mistakes, and find their own development direction through continuous learning. Through this industry forum, students have gained a deeper understanding of cloud native technology and its applications in various industries.
