On March 31, 2015, Guo Mingxin, the Executive General Manager of the Investment Banking Department of Anxin Securities, was invited to the college to give a lecture titled "Chinese Investment Banking under the New Normal" for the 2014 master's class of Applied Statistics. The lecture was hosted by Chen Zhifeng, a student from the 2014 Applied Statistics master's program, and all the students attentively listened to the lecture.

General Manager Guo has been engaged in investment banking for many years, possessing rich work experience and solid professional knowledge. He not only introduced the nature and business scope of investment banks to everyone but also analyzed the construction of the capital market under the new normal of China's economy, as well as the opportunities and challenges that investment banks will face in the future, in a detailed, vivid, and easily understandable manner, combining it with current economic hot issues. In addition, General Manager Guo specifically addressed the employment standards in the securities industry, highlighting that qualities such as a willingness to endure hardships, self-learning ability, team spirit, and communication skills are essential for outstanding talent. At the end of the lecture, students actively participated by asking questions, and General Manager Guo patiently answered their queries and offered his suggestions to those who aspire to engage in investment banking in the future.

The atmosphere of the entire lecture was very harmonious. The students benefited greatly and, in light of the employment standards in the securities industry, those who aspire to work in investment banking became clearer about their future efforts, striving to prepare for their imminent entry into society and the workforce.
