On June 7th, our school held the 20th Student Representatives Conference and the 18th Club Representatives Conference of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. At this meeting, our college's student union won the second prize for "Outstanding College Student Union" for the 2014-2015 academic year; Huang Mingjun, the class committee secretary of the 2013 Applied Statistics class, was elected as the president of the university's student union. In the previous May Fourth recognition, our college's Youth League Committee was awarded the title of "Model Youth League Organization" for the 2014-2015 academic year; the themed group day activities organized by the 2013 Statistics class were awarded the title of "Top Ten Themed Group Day" by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in 2015; and Zhong Jie from the 2011 Financial Insurance major and Le Yuan from the 2012 Financial Insurance Statistics major were awarded the title of "Youth Model" by the university.
In this academic year, our college's Youth League Committee and Student Union have closely centered around the integration of knowledge and action, striving to practice the core socialist values. In conjunction with the talent cultivation of the college and leveraging the strengths of the statistics major, we have achieved commendable results. In the 2014 College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training program that concluded this semester, our college had four projects recognized as excellent projects; in the knowledge competition organized by the Youth League Committee titled "Learning the Spirit of the Two Sessions, Appreciating Xi's Quotes," our college won third place; in the first annual selection of outstanding students at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, our students Pan Hongdou and Wang Zhijun from the 2012 class of Financial Insurance Statistics, after multiple rounds of selection, received one of the highest honors among students at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics—the title of College Student of the Year.
The achievements of student work are the result of the collective efforts of all students, the careful guidance of all teachers, and a reflection of our college's student-centered approach and focus on talent cultivation. The college's Student League Committee, Student Union, and student organizations will continue to work hard, solidly carry out various tasks, and add luster to the college.
