On the afternoon of May 12, 2015, Mr. John Sall, co-founder of SAS and founder of JMP software, along with Jeff Perkinson, Global Customer Care Director of JMP, Yan Xuelin, General Manager of JMP Greater China and Southeast Asia, and Ding Jianfeng, Senior Statistician of JMP, visited the School of Statistics and Management at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics to give an excellent presentation for the faculty and students of the school. The party branch secretary of the college, Tu Tianfeng, Vice Dean You Jinhong, Deputy Party Branch Secretary Wang Ti, Professor Zhang Mingfang, Director of the Applied Statistics Master's Program, industry mentor Dr. Yang Siyuan from the R&D Center of SMIC, and nearly 50 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students from the college attended the lecture.

At the beginning of the lecture, Vice Dean You Jinhong introduced the collaboration between our institute and JMP Company. As our institute's Master's program in Applied Statistics is undergoing a professional evaluation, he reviewed for those present the contributions made by JMP Company in the development of the Applied Statistics Master's training program, curriculum design, textbook construction, case teaching, and the dual mentorship system. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to JMP Company and hoped that the cooperation between JMP Company and our institute could further expand and deepen.
Then, Secretary Tu Tianfeng presented a gift to Mr. John Sall on behalf of our institute, and Mr. John Sall also presented a gift in return on behalf of JMP Company. After the gift exchange ceremony, Mr. John Sall delivered a special report on JMP software, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of JMP software.

After the presentation, Mr. John Sall and his team held a discussion session with our JMP instructors, industry instructors, and some students in the conference room. The JMP software focuses on analyzing exploratory data. During the meeting, the college instructors and industry instructors shared their experiences of teaching with JMP. Teacher Baiyang introduced the basic situation of his classes using JMP and shared his story about why he uses JMP software. Teacher Wang Xue-min expressed his appreciation for the JMP software and offered several positive suggestions based on his own experiences, hoping for further improvements to the software's functionalities. The students present also shared their feelings about using JMP in the "Case Analysis" course, leading to a lively discussion and active exchange of ideas.

Mr. John Sall hopes to use this trip to China to understand the usage of JMP in China. He, along with the JMP representatives in China, thanked the teachers present for their recognition of JMP and happily responded to some of the demands raised by the attendees. They stated that the company will continue to work hard to explore a more improved JMP software model based on user suggestions.
