On December 13, the undergraduate teaching quality assessment work at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was launched in our college. In order to further improve the quality of undergraduate teaching and strengthen the normalization of undergraduate teaching management, our school is conducting a new round of undergraduate teaching quality assessment. This assessment will focus on the prominent issues identified in this year's routine teaching inspections, combined with the current background of online teaching, to evaluate the quality of undergraduate teaching work for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, Cao Xiaoxia, gave a brief speech before the evaluation work began, emphasizing that this round of evaluation is to prepare for the national audit assessment in 2025. The choice of the School of Statistics and Management as the first stop for this round of evaluation is to check the teaching achievements of the graduates from the new program in Data Science and Big Data Technology since its establishment in 2017, as well as to evaluate the "Double First-Class" construction of statistics-related majors. Our Dean, Feng Xingdong, and Vice Dean, Wu Chunjie, expressed their welcome and gratitude to the expert panel.

Experts were divided into two groups. Professor Zhang Mingfang, Professor Yin Chengyuan, Associate Professor Sun Yunwu, and Associate Professor Rui Tingxian conducted spot checks on the final assessment and semester grading materials for undergraduate online and offline courses for the 2021-2022 academic year, as well as the graduation thesis materials for the 2018 undergraduate cohort. The members of the expert group carefully reviewed each piece of material, discussing and recording areas that needed further improvement.

The second group of experts, Professor Gong Yangshu and Associate Professor Chen Kanyou, held a seminar with teachers and students. Due to the impact of the pandemic, both teachers and students spoke online, but this did not diminish everyone’s enthusiasm for communication. The two experts listened to the voices of teachers from various departments and students from different grades and majors, gaining insights into various issues such as teaching arrangements and teaching quality, and made detailed records.
