From June 11 to 12, 2022, the School of Statistics and Management successfully held the "2022 International Workshop on Complex Functional Data Analysis" online.

Complex functional data analysis is one of the current hot topics in statistics, holding significant importance in both theoretical research and practical applications. This seminar invites several statisticians from around the world, particularly renowned experts and scholars in the field of complex functional data statistical analysis, to exchange academic frontier issues and discuss the future development direction of complex functional data analysis. The seminar is hosted by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, co-chaired by Professor Feng Xingdong from the School of Statistics and Management at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Professor Cao Jiguo from Simon Fraser University in Canada. Through domestic and international collaboration, the seminar is actively organized and widely invites attention and support from numerous scholars. After the conference announcement was issued, nearly 600 participants registered for the event.

The seminar lasted for two days, with the theme "Frontier Scientific Issues in the Analysis of Complex Functional Data." The conference engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions on issues such as the definition of complex functional data, statistical analysis methods for complex functional data, statistical models, and theoretical foundations for complex functional data through three forms: keynote presentations, invited presentations, and student presentations. The report contents involved the analysis of complex functional network data, complex functional economic and financial data analysis, complex functional gene data analysis, and the statistical theories related to complex functional data analysis.
