On December 31, 2021, the Department of Mathematical Statistics of the School of Statistics and Management held the 2021 annual workshop online. This year's workshop focused on the theme of model averaging (predictive models) and received strong support from the Shanghai Data Science and Decision-Making Frontier Scientific Research Base.
The Dean of the School of Statistics and Management, Feng Xingdong, Vice Dean You Jinhong, Assistant Dean Bai Yang, Head of the Department of Mathematical Statistics Wang Shaoli, and faculty and student representatives from the Department of Mathematical Statistics gathered in the 316 meeting room of the school, while many faculty and students participated online.
The opening ceremony was hosted by You Jinhong, the Deputy Dean of the School of Statistics and Management. Dean Feng Xingdong and Wang Shaoli, the Director of the Department of Mathematical Statistics, delivered speeches in succession.
The academic report session was hosted by Assistant Dean Bai Yang. Young professors Zhang Xinyu, Li Jialiang, Fang Fang, and Yu Dalei, along with doctoral students Li Wenhui, Zhang Mengli, and Li Wenyu, respectively gave academic reports. The half-day academic report presented various research achievements in the field, with enthusiastic participation from the audience and active discussions. This workshop was a preliminary attempt by the college to explore regular workshops. In the future, various departments within the college will actively seek resources and conduct different types of workshops to create a strong academic atmosphere in the college.
