On the afternoon of May 5th,2015， our college held a unique faculty-student fun sports event on campus. This sports event is the second fun sports event of our college, mainly targeting freshmen. It is hoped that through sports, communication between faculty and students will be promoted, thereby advancing the implementation of the undergraduate mentor system, building a communication platform, and quickly enhancing students' sense of identity and belonging to the college and teachers, making the college the closest link between faculty and students.
The sports meeting successfully attracted nearly 80 first-year students from the School of Management through online promotion on WeChat and Weibo and offline promotion before the event. The college's party and administrative leaders, as well as the chairperson of the labor union, actively participated, and nearly 20 teachers joined in the interaction with the students. The sports meeting was exciting and filled with laughter, cheers, and shouts echoing across the campus, drawing many students to watch. There were four competition events: tug-of-war, bridge-building crossing, dodgeball, and nine-person ten-foot race, each involving interaction between teachers and students. The competition was conducted by class, with the winning class earning points after each round, and the class with the highest score became the champion. With the spirit of "participation is what matters, friendship comes first," students from different classes cheered and encouraged each other, allowing both teachers and students to experience the joy of sports, the fun of competition, and the satisfaction of participation! This truly resonated with the theme "Serve the university, enhance friendship, sweat through sports, and enjoy a wonderful life." It is particularly noteworthy that during the sports meeting, the teachers of the college were spirited and forgot their identities and ages, fully immersing themselves in the competition. One student humorously remarked, "Our teachers are all so young!"
After intense competition, Class One emerged victorious and claimed the championship of this sports meeting. After the award ceremony, the ring toss lottery that followed raised the excitement of the sports meeting to new heights. At this moment, for the students, everyone was enjoying happiness through sports, and rankings had become completely unimportant.
The fun sports meeting allows the teachers and students of our college to relax both physically and mentally amidst their busy work and study. Our college's Teacher Shao Jianli is the main person in charge of this sports meeting. He stated that there will be a fun sports meeting held next year, and there is a possibility of organizing more similar activities for teachers and students to strengthen the relationship between them and enrich campus cultural life.
