On March 7, 2017, at noon, our college held the defense for the final acceptance of the college student innovation and entrepreneurship training project. The defense meeting invited Teacher Yang Nan, Teacher Li Tao, and Teacher Chen Yan as review experts. A total of 11 project groups participated in this undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship project mid-term defense, divided into two categories: innovation projects and entrepreneurship projects. The three teachers patiently listened to the completion reports from each project group, raised questions regarding the project content, progress, data analysis, and provided suggestions for improvement for the groups that wish to continue applying for practical projects in the future.

Each project team made sufficient preparations for the defense, reporting to the reviewing teachers on the project's progress and achievements. With the development of the internet era, the innovative projects from each group have, to some extent, addressed trending issues online, presenting their own views and perspectives. These include problems such as fake reviews on Taobao and the prevalence of paid commenters in movie reviews, showcasing fresh ideas that caught the attention of the judges. The entrepreneurial project team also closely linked campus life with their own entrepreneurial ventures, leveraging their unique identities to explore hidden entrepreneurial opportunities.
The judges generally believe that the overall progress of the college's innovation and entrepreneurship projects is ideal. The students demonstrate strong innovation capabilities and a good entrepreneurial awareness, showcasing the positive and innovative spirit of contemporary college students. The students also expressed their gratitude for the teachers' earnest, responsible, and patient guidance. In the end, all groups successfully passed the defense, with the projects of Wang Mingyi's group, Wang Jiabao's group, Dong Xin's group, and Dong Shuyuan's group being rated as excellent projects. Thus, the completion and acceptance of the 2016 College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program projects of the School of Statistics and Management has been successfully concluded.
