On the afternoon of October 21,2015, the college held a mid-term review for the college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training projects. Vice Dean Wu Chunjie, Teacher Yang Nan, and Teacher Li Tao patiently listened to the mid-term reports from each project group, asking questions regarding project content, progress, data analysis, etc., and provided suggestions for later improvements; each project group was also well-prepared for this defense, not only preparing PPTs but also presenting physical displays for some of the entrepreneurship training projects.

This undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship project mid-term defense involved 14 project groups, divided into two categories: innovative projects and entrepreneurial projects. The innovative project groups involved interdisciplinary integration of statistics, regional economics, law, management, marketing, and other fields, reflecting our students' solid statistical foundation and the ability to expand learning across multiple areas. The entrepreneurial project group students introduced various entrepreneurial plans such as outdoor movies on campus, plant pets, and campus souvenirs, fully showcasing everyone's awareness of innovation and entrepreneurship.
During the defense process, the teachers listened patiently, provided candid evaluations, and offered many constructive suggestions. The judges generally believed that the overall progress of the college's innovation and entrepreneurship projects was ideal, that the students had strong innovative abilities and good entrepreneurial awareness, showcasing the positive and innovative spirit of contemporary college students. The students also expressed their gratitude for the teachers' responsibility and patient guidance.
The innovation and entrepreneurship training program is an important measure to strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities of university students. The college actively organizes students to participate and encourages innovation through various forms such as mobilization meetings and communication meetings. At the same time, the college emphasizes improving the quality of student training projects, setting high standards and strict requirements for the projects, striving to cultivate students' research awareness and research ability through innovation and entrepreneurship training, allowing students to apply statistical methods and skills in different fields, better serving economic and social development, and continuously enhancing their research capabilities and research levels.
In the 2015 college undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship training project conclusion, there are 12 projects. Among them, the innovation training project led by Liu Yang, “The Impact of Pursuing a Second Major on College Students’ Graduation Paths and Its Effectiveness Analysis—Based on Attribute Data Analysis and Multivariate Statistical Analysis”; the innovation training project led by Yu Miaomiao, “Analysis of Factors Influencing College Students’ Success in Applying to Study for a Master’s Degree in the U.S.”; the innovation training project led by Yan Bin, “Research on the Impact of the Launch of CSI 300 Index Futures on the Volatility of the Stock Spot Market”; and the entrepreneurship training project led by Yan Xing, “Photo Sharing Appointment Intermediary Network Platform,” were rated as excellent projects.
