To help students better understand the statistics discipline at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and to provide effective graduate admissions consulting services, on May 12, our college's Vice Dean Wu Chunjie, Deputy Secretary Wang Ti, and Chair of the Applied Statistics Master's Program Zhang Mingfang, along with two other members, visited Xiamen University for research and held the 2017 Applied Statistics Master's Program admissions presentation in the Economic School Auditorium.

The recruitment briefing attracted many students from Xiamen University who are applying. Zhang Mingfang, the director of the Applied Statistics Master's Program, introduced the admissions policy and employment situation of our college's Applied Statistics Master's Program to the students present. The Applied Statistics Master's Program enrolls about 80 students nationwide each year.

In response to some students' interest in academics, our college's Vice Dean Wu Chunjie also introduced the master's and doctoral program, encouraging everyone to make choices based on their own conditions. Those with an interest in academic research can apply for the master's and doctoral program.
Through the presentation, the attending students' understanding of the Master of Applied Statistics program at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was enhanced. During the interactive Q&A session, the students on-site were enthusiastic in asking questions, and our faculty members actively provided clarifications and answers. When informed that our college will host the first Summer Camp this summer, several students expressed their interest and will pay attention to our admissions information.

After the presentation, some students continued to engage with the presenter for further communication to obtain more information.

Our institute's applied statistics master's program ranked first in the 2015 national evaluation of applied statistics master's programs, receiving high recognition from society for its talent cultivation achievements, with a very high employment rate. This June marks the graduation of the first cohort of students from our "Data Science and Business Statistics" applied statistics master's program. It is reported that graduates of this program are in high demand in the job market, with each graduate averaging 2-3 job offers, achieving 100% employment and an average monthly salary reaching five figures.
