On March 8, 2019, our school held a ceremony to commemorate the 109th International Women’s Day and an award ceremony to recognize outstanding women who have excelled in teaching, research, talent cultivation, cultural development, and management services. At the same time, the selection for the 25th "Top Ten Female College Students" at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was conducted. The School of Statistics and Management achieved outstanding results in this recognition, with several excellent women emerging. Professor Yang Nan from the School of Statistics and Management was awarded the "Shanghai Women's March 8th Red Banner Holder" for the 2017-2018 academic year, Professor Chang Ning from the School of Statistics and Management received the "Shanghai Education System March 8th Red Banner Holder" for the 2017-2018 academic year, and Associate Professor Li Tao from the School of Statistics and Management was honored as the "Shanghai University of Finance and Economics March 8th Red Banner Holder" for the 2017-2018 academic year. In addition, student Han Quantan from the School of Statistics and Management was awarded the 25th "Top Ten Female College Students" at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. The secretary of the School of Statistics and Management, Xue Liang, along with teachers Zhuang Mei and Hu Songping attended the event to cheer for the winning students and faculty.

The purpose of this recognition meeting is to encourage female teachers and students to take exemplary figures as role models, promote the spirit of "self-respect, self-confidence, self-reliance, and self-improvement", strive to practice the core socialist values, and solidly advance the implementation of the school's "13th Five-Year" Plan, comprehensive reform, and "Double First-Class" construction plan, in order to strive for excellence and push the school’s reform and development to a new level.
