To broaden students' horizons, tap into their potential, better implement the educational reform project for the Statistics major - the Bingwen Plan, and deepen the collaboration between schools and enterprises, on April 21, 2017, our college's Vice Dean Wu Chunjie, along with counselor Wang Yuqin, led students from the 2014 experimental class to visit Tongdun Technology Co., Ltd. located in the Overseas Talent Innovation Park in Hangzhou.
Tongdun Technology Co., Ltd. is located in the Chengxi Science and Technology Innovation Industrial Gathering Area next to the Xixi Wetland in Hangzhou. This area is home to Alibaba Group and many outstanding startups, and is a key innovation park constructed in Hangzhou. Tongdun Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in 2013 and is currently the largest third-party big data risk control service provider in China. Since its establishment, it has provided risk control and anti-fraud services based on big data analysis to clients in multiple industries.

Under the leadership of Zhang Hao, one of the founders of Tongdun Technology, and Sun Xianyong, the marketing director, our faculty and students visited Tongdun Technology Company. Mr. Zhang Hao gave a detailed introduction to the company's products and technology system. In the marketing department, the students learned about the scale of data processed by Tongdun, with a daily total API reaching tens of millions, providing customers with fast and effective anti-fraud services. As an outstanding big data anti-fraud platform, Tongdun has also received numerous awards and recognition from both domestic and international sectors. Afterwards, the students visited the authorization acquisition department, which provides borrower data for corporate clients, and the text detection department, which obtains applicant information. The company's equal and open working environment also left a deep impression on the students.

Then, Mr. Zhang Hao had a warm exchange with the teachers and students, and suggested that the students master fundamental knowledge and actively explore the application and background of knowledge, widely acquire knowledge from various fields, and proactively expand their knowledge base to pave the way for their future career development. The students also actively asked Mr. Zhang related questions.

Finally, Vice Dean Wu Chunjie discussed with Mr. Zhang Hao about further collaboration between the college and Tongdun Company through project cooperation, building internship practice bases, and competition collaboration, and expressed gratitude for the company's warm reception of our faculty and students. The students gained a better understanding of the overview of risk control companies and the application of statistical knowledge in the industry during this enterprise visit, as well as the continuously advancing spirit of innovation.
Our institute has always placed great importance on the cultivation of undergraduate talent. With the support of the educational reform project for the Statistics major—Bingwen Plan—our institute has been striving to provide a higher quality training platform for the vast number of students and has intensified efforts to open a new chapter in school-enterprise cooperation. This time, our institute organized a visit for the 2014 experimental class to Tongdun Technology Company, which is an important way to enhance the quality and capabilities of our undergraduate students and to cultivate a spirit of innovation and interaction.
This visit was also an unforgettable social practice experience for the 2014 experimental class students. The students have their own insights and feelings about this visit experience:
14 Statistics Experimental Class Yang Yu: As soon as I entered the second floor of the company, I fully felt the harmonious working atmosphere at Tongdun. The open communication work environment and the simple yet creatively designed office setup completely matched my vision of a future workplace. We understood the necessity of development in the big data risk control industry, as well as Tongdun's entrepreneurial philosophy, and deeply felt the role that technological advancement and development play in supporting the healthy growth of enterprises, particularly online platforms. My biggest takeaway is that the torrent of technology has already arrived. To become a true contemporary statistics professional, it is important to understand the current direction of enterprise development, rather than rigidly sticking to textbook knowledge. Cultivating a broader perspective will greatly benefit my growth, and similar activities should be organized more frequently.
14 Statistics Experimental Class Jiang Wenlong: The company founder shared insights from a student's perspective on how to study theoretical knowledge in school to adapt to jobs like data risk control, giving us a clearer direction for our studies. A day of visits and research allowed us to preview the work environment we might find ourselves in the future, helping us understand how we should work hard now to shoulder the responsibilities of this industry. Overall, although the journey is long, it has been worthwhile.
14 Statistical Experimental Class, Suijin Zhen: As a university student, my understanding of companies is still quite superficial. The trip to Hangzhou was a great opportunity for us to learn about the company, and I am very grateful to the college for providing us with such an opportunity and creating this environment. Through introductions by the company's management, I gained a very intuitive understanding of the company's business projects, operational methods, corporate culture, and more, specifically about Tongdun Company. At the same time, learning about the company's talent needs made me realize which skills I should focus on training in school. Through this visit, I recognized that there is a certain distance between actual work and textbooks; we need further study and practice. Additionally, the entrepreneurial spirit deeply inspired me: enduring hardships leads to success; persist in doing what you want to do, and do not fear hardship; one day, there will be rewards.
