On the morning of May 30,2024， the "Talent Work Salon" event, hosted by the school's Party Committee Teacher Work Department (Talent Work Office), entered the School of Statistics and Management to understand the ideological dynamics of the college's faculty and to conduct a vivid presentation on talent projects both on and off campus for the college's teachers. The school's Party Committee Vice Secretary Zhu Mingxiong attended the meeting and gave a speech. Yang Le, the Minister of the Party Committee Teacher Work Department and Director of the Talent Work Office, Yang Hui, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Statistics and Management, and Feng Xingdong, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the School of Statistics and Management, participated in the meeting. Key members of the school's Party Committee Faculty Department (Talent Office) and several teachers from the School of Statistics and Management attended the seminar. The meeting was hosted by Yang Hui, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Statistics and Management.
Dean Feng Xingdong first introduced the basic situation of the college's faculty team construction, sharing some thoughts and insights from aspects such as talent recruitment and cultivation, as well as the growth and development of young teachers. He also discussed with everyone how to better support and motivate the development of young teachers. Dean Feng believes that building a high-quality and capable teaching team is the college's primary task, which requires continuous effort and investment. He emphasized the important support and promoting role of talent programs in faculty team construction.
Next, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee, Zhu Mingxiong, expressed his recognition of the achievements in faculty and talent development at the School of Statistics and Management in recent years. He also expressed his earnest expectations for the future development of the college. He hopes that the college can fully leverage its disciplinary advantages and further enhance its strengths, while expanding and extending into related fields of statistics. Secretary Zhu encouraged everyone to integrate their personal development with the growth of the college and the discipline, using the "spirit of educators" as guidance and the "four good teachers" as examples and benchmarks, to make good career plans and strive to become "teachers who are knowledgeable and morally upright" with strong ideals and beliefs, solid academic levels, and noble moral character.
Subsequently, Zhang Yongling, Deputy Director of the Faculty Work Department of the University Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Talent Office, provided a detailed introduction to the talent programs both inside and outside the university. She organized and summarized the talent program categories, application system, key points for application, and presented a vivid demonstration and introduction through some successful application cases. During the event, teachers actively participated in the interaction, discussing the work requirements related to moral education, teaching and research, and social service. Teacher Yang Le summarized the exchange situation.
The "Talent Work Salon" event is an expansion and innovative practice of the school's "Face-to-Face with the Secretary" series of activities. In the form of thematic exchange and interaction, it strengthens the link between the cultivation and development of talents at both the school and college levels, nurturing talent, uniting talent, leading talent, and achieving talent, while more effectively carrying out political guidance and cultivation development work for talents.
