From October 19 to 20, 2017, our school's Admissions Office, in collaboration with the School of Statistics and Management, visited Jilin Province, where they signed agreements with four well-known high schools and held the unveiling ceremony for the "Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Excellent Talent Source Base."
Deputy Director of the Admissions Office, Peng Xi; Associate Dean of the School of Statistics and Management, Wu Chunjie; Professor Wang Liming from the School of Statistics and Management; and Associate Dean Han Dongmei from the School of Information Engineering and Management visited four high schools: Northeast Normal University Affiliated High School, Changchun No. 11 High School, Jilin University Affiliated Experimental High School, and Jilin No. 1 High School, and delivered impressive enrollment presentations.
Before the signing and listing, Deputy Director of the Admissions Office, Peng Xi, represented the university to deliver a recruitment presentation to local students. He expressed gratitude to various high schools for their unwavering commitment to providing outstanding students to Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE). In the context of the new college entrance examination reform, SUFE places great emphasis on reinforcing its traditional friendship with its source schools and enhancing the interaction between higher education institutions and high schools. The university hopes to bring professors' lectures and advanced courses to these excellent source schools. Finally, Peng Xi introduced information about SUFE's history, current status, admissions data, international development direction, graduate employment rates, and average salaries.
Subsequently, the school's delegation signed a contract and awarded a plaque to the outstanding student source base.
The "Outstanding Student Source Base of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics" aims to strengthen the connection between Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and nationally renowned high schools, establishing a long-term cooperative mechanism for both parties to actively select, deliver, and jointly cultivate outstanding students, thus building a high-quality platform. Students from the Outstanding Student Source Base can not only receive timely information about admissions and recruitment from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics but also enjoy summer camps organized by the university, where they can study and visit the campus. In addition, the university will arrange for experts to conduct subject lectures at the Outstanding Student Source Base as appropriate. Within the scope allowed by relevant policies of the Ministry of Education, priority will be given to students from the Outstanding Student Source Base in various special types of admissions, including independent enrollment, high-level art troupes, high-level athletes, and recommendation students. The construction of the Outstanding Student Source Base not only helps attract excellent students but also expands the influence and reputation of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics nationwide.
