President Fan warmly congratulated the establishment of the Alumni Association of the School of Statistics and Management on behalf of the university and the alumni association, and extended a warm welcome to all alumni and the convening of the Alumni Summit Forum. She stated that the School of Statistics and Management, as one of the older and stronger schools at the university, has unique advantages and contributions. She considers the school to be particularly outstanding in the aspect of "three studies". The key to running a university lies in "study," with the first "study" being academic. Shanghai University of Finance and Economics is an academic community comprised of various disciplines. The statistics discipline has developed over more than 70 years, and its status in China and international standing are well recognized, ranking among the top in various disciplines at our university. According to the ShanghaiRanking’s Academic Ranking of World Universities, our statistics program ranks 51-75 globally, reflecting the school’s diligent academic efforts and achievement of a certain level. The second "study" is students. As an established discipline, statistics has nurtured generations of statisticians. Among our 150,000 alumni, the alumni of the School of Statistics and Management constitute a very important group. Our trained statisticians are active and play significant roles in academics, politics, and industry. The academic level and performance of students from the School of Statistics and Management are outstanding. The third "study" is scholars. Academia is built by scholars, and the contributions of scholars matter. The School of Statistics and Management has two notable features regarding scholars: a group of competent and quality faculty, which includes full-time faculty. It also implements an open policy, allowing for a high-level international group of part-time scholars. These two teams work together to serve students and create academic achievements, leading to the advancement of the school’s academic standards, the growth of students, and the excellence of scholars. The purpose of the Alumni Association is to serve the development of alumni and the development of the alma mater. She expressed her heavy expectations for the Alumni Association, hoping that the Alumni Association of the School of Statistics and Management would engage in meaningful exploration in serving alumni development. In serving the alma mater, she hopes that all alumni will interact well with the school and co-build the university. She encourages all alumni to cultivate themselves and uphold moral integrity, keeping in mind the school motto of "Cultivate Integrity and Pursue Knowledge, Economically Improve the Times."

After the founding conference, alumni and guests took a group photo together. In the afternoon, taking this opportunity, the School of Statistics and Management held an alumni summit forum.
