On October 14, 2017, the founding conference of the Zhejiang Branch of the Alumni Association of the School of Statistics and Management at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was grandly held in Deqing. Xue Liang, Party Secretary of the School of Statistics and Management at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shao Jianli, Deputy Dean of the Continuing Education College of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Yang Jianmin, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Alumni Association, Chen Jianhong, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Zhejiang Alumni Association, and nearly 20 alumni representatives, including 1955 graduate Dong Zhijun, attended the founding conference. The meeting was hosted by 1992 graduate Dai Hongwei.
At the founding conference, the head of the alumni association preparatory team, Hu Zhaoguan, recapped the preparation process of the alumni association. All attending alumni reviewed and unanimously approved the "Constitution of the Zhejiang Branch of the Alumni Association of the School of Statistics and Management at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics," and elected the first board members of the Zhejiang branch: Hu Zhaoguan as the first president, Hu Xuwei, Zhou Shilong, Xu Haiqiang, Xu Qunfang, and Dai Hongwei as vice presidents, with Dai Hongwei also serving as secretary general, and Li Xiaoliang appointed as deputy secretary general.
The first president, Hu Zhaoquan, spoke on behalf of the Zhejiang alumni of the School of Statistics and Management. He expressed gratitude to the college leadership for their trust and to the alumni for their support on behalf of the council members. In the future work of the alumni association, council members will strictly abide by the association's constitution and diligently fulfill their responsibilities, living up to the expectations of the college leaders and alumni. The Zhejiang alumni association will keep in mind the school motto of "Sincerity and Learning, Serving the Economy," using emotion as a bond and career as a goal, uniting council members and Zhejiang alumni, striving for progress, giving their utmost, strengthening the connection between alumni and their alma mater, as well as among alumni themselves, serving the development of alumni, serving the development of the alma mater, and serving the economic construction of Zhejiang, not disappoint the earnest hopes of the alma mater and the alumni.
Secretary Xue Liang, on behalf of the Academy, expressed his warmest congratulations on the establishment of the Zhejiang Branch of the Alumni Association of the School of Statistics and Management at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and extended his heartfelt thanks to the alumni who have supported the development and construction of their alma mater over the years. He introduced the achievements the Academy has made in recent years in talent cultivation, scientific research, and social service, particularly highlighting that the Academy's statistics discipline has been selected for the national "Double First-Class" construction list, which is truly inspiring. He stated that the achievements of the Academy and its future development rely not only on the hard work of the faculty, staff, and students but also on the excellent school spirit cultivated during the alumni's time at the school and their tangible and intangible contributions to the development of the institution after entering society. Alumni share both honors and disgraces with their alma mater; they are the creators of the school's reputation, transmitters of its spiritual culture and social influence, and important supporting forces for the school's development and construction. He hopes that after the establishment of the Zhejiang Alumni Association of the School of Statistics and Management, they can fully leverage the resource advantages of the alma mater, alumni, and alumni enterprises to strengthen cooperation and exchanges in talent cultivation, scientific research, and serving the local economic construction of Zhejiang, achieving mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.
