On September 24, 2014, at 10:00 AM, the School of Statistics and Management of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and GaoWo Information Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony for the establishment of the "Discover Scholarship" in the administrative building of our university. Representatives from the university attending the signing ceremony included Feng Runmin, Director of the Student Affairs Office; Jiang Hui, Deputy Director of the Office of Cooperation and Development; Zhu Junping, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School; Zhou Yong, Dean of the School of Statistics and Management; and Tu Tianfeng, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the School of Statistics and Management. Representatives from GaoWo Information Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. present at the ceremony included James Panzarino, Executive Vice President of Discover; Shrikant Dash, Vice President; and Steven Dickerson, Vice President. The signing ceremony was hosted by You Jinhong, Deputy Dean of the School of Statistics and Management.
Jiang Hui, the Deputy Director of the Cooperation and Development Office at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, first delivered a speech at the meeting. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the university for Discover's generous donation to support education, while also introducing the history and basic overview of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and the School of Statistics and Management. He warmly welcomed the visiting guests. Subsequently, Mr. Shrikant Dash, Vice President of Discover, also delivered a speech, expressing his affirmation of the talent cultivation at the university, his enthusiasm for the educational cause, and his earnest hopes for the students.
Subsequently, Dean Zhou Yong and Mr. Shrikant Dash jointly signed the "Discover Scholarship" establishment agreement, and gifts were exchanged between Party Secretary Tu Tianfeng and Mr. James Panzarino, Executive Vice President of Discover.
After the ceremony, all guests took a group photo. Student representatives from the School of Statistics and Management had a relaxed and enjoyable exchange with the guests and six alumni from the university working at Discover regarding future employment, the company's demand for statistical talent, and career planning. Finally, the guests, led by Vice Dean You Jinhong, toured the university campus and the office building of the School of Statistics and Management.
