On April 27, Wang Shiyu, Chairman of Beijing Juyuan Ruisi Data Technology Co., Ltd., and his team visited our school to discuss the cooperation and donation between Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Ruisi Company, and to formally sign the agreement. Attending the signing ceremony were Liu Lanjun, Vice President of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Chen Hongmei, Director of the Cooperation and Development Office, Zhou Yong, Dean of the School of Statistics and Management, Tu Tianfeng, Secretary of the School of Statistics and Management, Zhu Hongjun, Director of the Academic Affairs Office, and Zou Ping, Vice Dean of the Graduate School.
Secretary Tu Tianfeng chaired the meeting, introduced the guests present, and expressed gratitude to Beijing Ruisi Company for funding the development of the education of the School of Statistics and Management. Vice President Liu Lanjun highly praised the school-enterprise cooperation model where Ruisi Company comprehensively supports the development of the School of Statistics and Management through teaching awards donations. She introduced the long history of the university and the development of the statistics discipline, stating that the series of collaborations between the School of Statistics and Management and Beijing Juyuan Ruisi Data Technology Co., Ltd. in student training, scientific research, and other aspects represent a win-win cooperation model. She expressed hope that this cooperative relationship could deepen into joint training of innovative statistical talents, faculty training exchanges, project collaborations, and scientific research, achieving long-lasting results and becoming a model for cooperation between enterprises and universities. Chairman Wang Shiyu subsequently expressed the hope for a deeper, broader, and better collaboration with Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, yielding a series of results. During the ceremony, Director Chen Hongmei thanked the leaders of Ruisi Company for their support of the educational cause of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. She promised that the Educational Development Foundation would "serve Ruisi wholeheartedly and live up to the donations entrusted," and "sincerely join hands with Ruisi to create a better future." She also committed that the Office of Cooperative Development would strongly support the "strong alliance and complementary advantages" of the school-enterprise cooperation between the School of Statistics and Management and Ruisi Company and expressed hope for close cooperation with Ruisi Company in more areas.
Subsequently, Vice President Chen Hongmei and Chairman Wang Shiyu jointly signed the donation agreement, while Dean Zhou Yong and Chairman Wang Shiyu jointly signed the cooperation agreement.
Professor Zhu Shiwu, chief advisor of Ruisi Company, admitted that among the many universities in Shanghai, only Shanghai University of Finance and Economics has a deep-rooted connection with Ruisi. Shanghai University of Finance and Economics is also the first university with which Ruisi has collaborated, and he expressed that this cooperation is the best combination of finance and statistics. He then introduced the establishment, development, and future direction of Ruisi Company, hoping that this donation and cooperation signing ceremony is just a small beginning. He looks forward to both parties establishing a better understanding and cooperation in more fields to jointly promote social development. Finally, Dean Zhou Yong made a positive outlook on the specific collaboration direction with Ruisi Company based on the three keywords “gratitude,” “collaboration,” and “innovation.” In the era of big data, the School of Statistics and Management will further cooperate with enterprises to carry out more in-depth industry-university-research collaborative innovation, develop the field of statistics, and apply statistics to relevant application areas, nurturing more highly qualified compound talents with solid professional knowledge and practical skills for the country. The successful holding of this signing ceremony marks the beginning of deeper cooperation opportunities in talent cultivation, faculty exchange, project collaboration, and more, based on the past cooperation between the School of Statistics and Management of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Ruisi Company, relying on the Big Data Statistics Science Center.
