On March 11, Liu Yonghui, Dean of the School of Statistics and Information of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, along with Party Secretary Fan Dengfeng, Party Deputy Secretary Xu Feng, and a delegation of seven, visited our institute for research. Our institute was represented by Dean Feng Xingdong, Party Secretary Xue Liang, Party Deputy Secretary Wang Ti, Vice Dean You Jinhong, Vice Dean Wu Chunjie, and Assistant to the Dean Huang Mian at the research meeting. Both parties had in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics such as the formulation of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the construction of the doctoral program in statistics, the training of applied statistics master's students, faculty construction, ideological and political education in courses, and student work.

President Liu Yonghui first introduced the visiting personnel and briefly outlined several aspects that this research meeting aimed to discuss, especially the "14th Five-Year Plan," discipline construction, and talent cultivation. He hoped that both institutions could communicate with each other, learn from one another, and align their standards.
Dean Feng Xindong expressed a warm welcome to Teacher Liu Yonghui and his team, and then shared the main plans of our college regarding the "14th Five-Year Plan." He provided a detailed analysis of the challenges faced by the statistics discipline during this period and how to respond to these challenges, covering aspects such as the current situation, development goals, main content of construction, innovative reform projects, and the assurance of construction conditions. Dean Feng Xindong particularly emphasized the importance of accurately identifying the discipline's positioning, paying attention to international development trends, valuing practice and application, and better facing challenges in the era of data science.

Subsequently, teachers Liu Yonghui, Fan Dengfeng, and others further discussed with our college's teachers on undergraduate admissions, the construction of first-class professional points, discipline evaluation-related construction, course setting, and other aspects. Dean Feng Xingdong, Vice Dean Wu Chunjie, and others provided detailed introductions and responses, sharing relevant experiences in optimizing internal management systems, constructing academic classification evaluation systems, and strengthening control over course quality.
Dean Liu Yonghui and his delegation expressed their affirmation of our institute's discipline development and thanked us for this exchange and sharing. They hope for more opportunities to exchange and learn at our institute to jointly promote the discipline construction and development of both parties.
