On the afternoon of May 20, a delegation of five led by Dean Liu Bin from the School of Economics and Management of Shanghai Maritime University visited our institute to research the development plan of the college. Secretary Tu Tianfeng, Vice Dean You Jinhong, Vice Dean Wu Chunjie, and Professor Zhang Mingfang from our institute participated in this discussion. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on teacher recruitment, institutional construction, disciplinary development, measures for substantial education, and the master's training program in applied statistics.

Dean Liu introduced the basic overview of the development of the School of Economics and Management at Shanghai Maritime University, as well as some confusions encountered, expressing a deep desire to "learn from" Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.

Secretary Tu Tianfeng pointed out that our college and the School of Economics and Management at Shanghai Maritime University are "brother institutions" that can learn from each other and develop together. Vice Dean Wu Chunjie provided Director Liu Bin with a detailed introduction to our college's personnel system, teacher selection system, and team building. Vice Dean You Jinhong emphasized the measures for the reform of the college's institutionalized education and the basic situation of the master's program in applied statistics. Professor Zhang Mingfang introduced the status of our industry mentors, academic advisory committee, and thesis publication, and offered some suggestions regarding the issues faced by students at Maritime University, such as internships and employment. Finally, it was also mentioned how our college's overseas-returned professors have brought numerous resources to the college, including academic reports and short-term courses.
After the meeting, Dean Liu Bin presented our college with the emblematic sculpture "Soaring" from Shanghai Maritime University. Both parties expressed their intention to strengthen exchanges in the future, share experiences in professional development, and jointly promote the development of the statistics discipline.
