On the evening of March 25, 2015, the HSBC Data Analytics Department held a campus recruitment presentation in the Academic Lecture Hall of the School of Statistics and Management at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, attracting active participation from graduate and undergraduate students in related majors from major universities in Shanghai and nearby universities. This presentation served as the opening event for the Data Analytics Club, marking the beginning of a new round of collaboration between the School of Statistics and Management and HSBC.

HSBC Data Analysis Club is dedicated to providing a series of lectures on technology and business perspectives for students in Shanghai universities who have a strong interest in business data analysis and wish to develop in this field. The club also offers internship opportunities for outstanding students and assists them in participating in activities such as the SAS National Competition to enhance their career competitiveness. In view of the academic influence and advanced education level of the Department of Statistics and Management at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in the Shanghai region and across the country, HSBC Global Operations Center will collaborate with Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, utilizing both parties' resources to provide a platform for students to rapidly develop their business data analysis skills. Against this background, the Shanghai HSBC Data Analysis Club was established in 2015, hoping to cultivate a large number of talents for the industry through this platform.
The seminar, as the first organized event of the club, received a very good response. The seminar began with a welcome speech from Vice Dean Wu Chunjie, who introduced the purpose and planning of the talent club. In addition, Huang Yi, Vice President of HSBC, Liang Yunsi, Deputy General Manager, Zhou Xiaoshu, and other Assistant Vice Presidents conducted a presentation for the students. They provided a rich course covering HSBC’s history, business introduction, practical technical operations, and an overview of the Global Analysis Center. During the seminar, students actively participated in discussions and often hit the key points, receiving affirmation from relevant personnel. After the seminar, a written test for consulting analysts was conducted, marking the first step for the club in talent delivery to HSBC.

The participation in this information session was high, and the on-site interaction was enthusiastic. Students who participated in this session will become the first members of the club. The successful conclusion of this information session reflects the club as a new carrier for effective school-enterprise interaction and a win-win model, laying a solid foundation for the future work of the club! At the same time, by strengthening the collaboration between the Statistics and Management School and HSBC through the talent club, in-depth cooperation will be carried out in areas such as talent cultivation, faculty exchange, and project cooperation, further opening a new chapter in school-enterprise cooperation.
