Shanghai University of Finance and Economics holds a meeting of the expert group for the qualified evaluation of the statistical science degree authorization point in the Department of Statistics.
The assessment meeting for the master's degree program in statistics at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was held on December 5, 2015, in meeting room 1316 of the School of Statistics and Management. Professor Yuan Wei (team leader) from Renmin University of China, Professor Wang Zhaojun from Nankai University, Professor Liu Yang from Central University of Finance and Economics, Professor Geng Zhi from Peking University, and Professor Ji Hong from Capital University of Economics and Business attended the meeting as external expert team members. Assistant to the President and Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School, Professor Zheng Shaohua, Assistant Dean of the Graduate School and Director of the Academic Degree Office, Xie Yongkang, along with other leaders from the Graduate School, Dean of the School of Statistics and Management, Zhou Yong, Secretary of the School of Statistics and Management, Tu Tianfeng, and other college leaders and key faculty members participated in the meeting.

Professor Yuan Wei, the head of the assessment expert group, delivered a speech and chaired the expert group meeting. Deputy Dean You Jinhong from the School of Statistics and Management reported the situation of this degree authorization point to all the experts and leaders.

The expert group listened to the self-assessment summary report of the statistics degree program at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, carefully reviewed the materials, and after thorough discussion, proposed a few suggestions and expectations for the authorization point of this discipline: The statistics degree program at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics should continue to build innovative platforms guided by national and social needs in the coming years, strive for significant breakthroughs in subject construction, improve the faculty team, achieve fruitful results in scientific research, attain robust outcomes in academic exchanges and international development, and strengthen talent cultivation. Finally, the expert group unanimously agreed to the evaluation report of the statistics degree program at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, with the evaluation result being excellent.
