The School of Statistics and Management and the School of Foreign Languages jointly held a special seminar on the Fourth Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee.
In order to deeply study and implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 18th Party Congress, on the afternoon of November 18, 2014, the Party General Branch of the School of Statistics and Management and the Party General Branch of the School of Foreign Languages jointly held a special counseling report on the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee in the report hall on the third floor of the Red Tile Building. The report was given by Professor Xu Jiqiang from the Law School. More than 100 faculty and student party members from the School of Statistics and Management and the School of Foreign Languages participated in this special counseling study. The special report was hosted by Teacher Chen Hongmei, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the School of Foreign Languages, and attended by Tu Tianfeng, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the School of Statistics and Management, and Wang Ti, Deputy Secretary.

At the report meeting, Professor Xu Jiqiang delivered a presentation centered on the theme "Comprehensively Advancing the Rule of Law." He provided an in-depth and systematic interpretation of the spirit of the plenary session, focusing on three aspects: the key points and highlights of the "Decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Several Major Issues Concerning Comprehensively Advancing the Rule of Law," the contentious and challenging issues, and the significance and implementation. This helped the participating faculty and students accurately grasp the guiding ideology, overall objectives, key strategies, and scientific connotations of the "Decision." The entire report was both a review of history and a grounding in the current national situation, utilizing a variety of sources, being clear and accessible, and presenting incisive and lively discussions, which received unanimous acclaim from faculty and student party members. This learning session further deepened the understanding and grasp of the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee among the faculty and student party members of the two colleges, enhancing awareness of the importance and necessity of building a socialist rule of law nation, rule of law government, and rule of law society.

In her concluding speech, Chen Hongmei, the Secretary of the Party General Branch of the School of Foreign Languages, pointed out that faculty and student party members should continue to deeply study and comprehend the spirit of the plenary session, and effectively unify their thoughts and actions with the central spirit. In the process of learning, they should strive for integration and penetration, deeply grasp the new ideas, new theories, new viewpoints, and new tasks contained in the plenary session, ensuring that learning leads to thoughts and practical applications, and applying the results of their studies to learning and work practices, enhancing legal awareness and the concept of the rule of law, and making the necessary contributions to governing the country by law, governing the school by law, and governing the institution by law.
