The School of Statistics and Management joyfully won the championship of the 2013 SAS Data Analysis Competition for Higher Education Institutions.
On November 11, 2013, the national final of the China University SAS Data Analysis Competition took place at the SAS Company headquarters in Beijing. The representative team from our School of Statistics and Management, consisting of 2010 undergraduate students Guo Qi, Sun Weichong, and Kong Xiao, guided by teachers Luo Sirong and Wu Chunjie, won the national championship in this competition.
The 2013 China University SAS Data Analysis Competition is a non-profit public competition initiated for the first time by SAS Software (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SAS) specifically for data analysis-related programs in Chinese universities. It is aimed at universities across the country, with the goal of promoting the understanding, application, and popularization of SAS software among Chinese universities, improving students' application level of SAS software, and thus aligning Chinese universities with international standards in the field of data modeling.
This competition is divided into three major regions: Beijing, Shanghai, and Xiamen, attracting participation from over 50 universities across the country. After the preliminary round, ten universities, including Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Peking University, Fudan University, and Renmin University of China, qualified for the national finals. Ultimately, through two days of data analysis and report writing, our university's representative team from the School of Statistics and Management stood out and won the championship. The championship result once again proves the strong strength of our university's statistics discipline and the success of its talent training model.
