On January 13, 2020, the School of Statistics and Management held a concluding conference on the theme education of "Staying True to the Original Aspirations and Keeping the Mission in Mind." Zhu Mingxiong, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, attended the meeting, which was presided over by Dean Feng Xingdong.
At the beginning of the meeting, Secretary Xue Liang conveyed the spirit of President Xi Jinping's speech at the summary meeting of the thematic education on "Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firm in Mind" on January 8, and then conducted the summary meeting of the thematic education on "Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firm in Mind." First, Secretary Xue Liang reported to everyone on the situation of the leadership team's thematic democratic life meeting on "Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firm in Mind," and presented the college's summary report on the thematic education.
After the report, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, Zhu Mingxiong, delivered a speech. He stated that the college's special democratic life meeting was pragmatic and standardized, achieving its intended role of warning and reminding. In accordance with the requirements of thematic education, the college focused on the theme and closely followed the main line, integrating the four key measures of learning and education, investigation and research, problem inspection, and rectification and implementation throughout, doing very well, with certain aspects being distinctive and highlighted. He believes that "staying true to the original aspiration and keeping the mission in mind" is an eternal and lifelong topic for teachers, and hopes that all teachers will pay attention to the construction of teacher ethics and conduct, becoming exemplars in promoting virtue and educating people.
At the end of the meeting, the college's Party and administration leadership conducted their annual work reports. Dean Feng Xingdong presented the work report on behalf of the college leadership, introducing the work situation of the college in 2019 from aspects such as discipline construction, faculty team development, teaching work, research work, academic exchanges, and Party affairs. The college leaders individually presented their personal work reports.
After the meeting, the college will closely follow the main theme of "staying true to the original intention and keeping the mission in mind," focusing on rectification and targeted efforts, adhering to the unity of problem orientation, goal orientation, and result orientation. We will further enhance learning and education, strengthen investigation and research, continuously consolidate and expand the achievements of theme education, and ensure that theme education yields tangible results.
