On May 7, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Statistics and Data Science at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Teacher Zhuang Mei, Director of the Student Office, Teacher Zhu Feng, and Graduate Program Counselor, Teacher Cao Xinyi, led 14 faculty and students from the college to visit Haier Consumer Finance Co., Ltd. for an exchange activity, while simultaneously conducting summer internship interviews. This event is an important initiative for both the university and the enterprise to deepen cooperation and provides students with a high-quality platform to engage with industry frontiers and explore career development. The Deputy General Manager (acting) of Haier Consumer Finance Co., Ltd., Han Xiangyong, Chief Data Officer (CDO) Dong Liuhuan, and Head of Human Strategy Yu Wenjia attended the event and participated in the exchange.
On the day of the event, the students arrived at Haier Consumer Finance Co., Ltd. on time, filled with anticipation and expectations for the consumer finance field. After a warm welcome ceremony, a series of carefully organized activities by the company began in an orderly fashion. At noon, the students enjoyed a shared lunch with the company; in the relaxed atmosphere, everyone took a moment to rest and recharge for the afternoon's itinerary.
At 1 PM, the sharing and exchange meeting opened on time. Mr. Yu and Mr. Dong from Haier Consumer Finance attended the event in person to deliver a comprehensive and professionally rigorous presentation on the company's development. They began by discussing the historical context of the company's business development, thoroughly analyzing core business segments, and meticulously planning future strategic layouts. They notably showcased the company's innovative practices and industry position in the field of consumer finance. During the segment introducing the talent development strategy, the company's well-established talent training system, scientifically sound promotion mechanism, and broad and diverse career development opportunities fully demonstrated the company's emphasis on and commitment to nurturing professional talent.
The atmosphere of the interactive exchange session was lively, with students actively asking questions related to the company's business processes, data analysis applications, and career development paths, combining their own major studies and career planning. Mr. Yu and Dr. Dong provided detailed and professional answers to each question, drawing on their solid industry experience and strong professional expertise. The in-depth discussions and exchanges not only gave teachers and students a more comprehensive and profound understanding of the company's business model and corporate culture but also stimulated everyone’s deep thinking about industry development trends.
After the sharing and communication session, the summer internship interview process was carried out in an orderly manner. Students conducted one-on-one interviews with the company's human resources department and business team interviewers based on their personal career plans. During the interview process, students fully demonstrated their solid professional knowledge, rich practical experience, and outstanding teamwork ability, sincerely expressing their strong desire to join the company for an internship. The company interviewers conducted a comprehensive and objective assessment of the students from multiple dimensions, including professional quality, overall capabilities, and potential for career development, aiming to select high-quality talents that align with the company's development needs.
This visit and internship interview activity is an important exploration by the School of Statistics and Data Science at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in talent cultivation work.
