Time flies, the sun and moon shuttle like a shuttle, time boils rain, and years pass by. On June 22, 2024, in the rainy season, alumni of the 1984 Applied Statistics Class of the School of Statistics and Management gathered on campus to celebrate their 40th anniversary, revisit their campus years, and continue their alma mater friendship.
Yang Hui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Statistics and Management, warmly welcomed the alumni who came from afar. Huang Tao, Vice Dean of the School of Statistics and Management, introduced the development of the college in recent years from the aspects of discipline introduction, faculty team, talent cultivation, scientific research, and social services. He also summarized the direction and goals of talent cultivation in the college from three dimensions: undergraduate students, master's degree in applied statistics, and joint master's and doctoral studies. Zhuang Mei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Statistics and Management, introduced the characteristics of current students and the development potential of fresh graduates to all alumni, hoping that alumni can continue to support the development of the school. Afterwards, the three teachers interacted and exchanged ideas with the alumni, answering their concerns one by one, and expressed that the growth and development of the alma mater cannot be separated from the support and care of the alumni. They look forward to the alumni continuing to contribute to the development of the college.

At the symposium, alumni actively participated and shared their career experiences and insights with each other. Alumni from different fields such as funds, insurance, and securities firms are showcasing their personal style and professional achievements to the fullest. In the atmosphere of laughter and joy, everyone reminisced about their campus time, delved into the twists and turns of life, and unanimously recognized the important role of their alma mater in shaping their careers, especially the profound influence of statistical literacy.

After the symposium, the alumni received their friendship filled alumni cards one by one, visited the underground passages of the campus along the way, and also collected exquisite promotional materials from the Entrepreneurship Center. They stopped by the badminton court to watch the intense and friendly badminton matches between alumni together. The day was fulfilling and meaningful.
