The second "Alumni Salon" event of the School of Statistics and Data Science Branch of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Alumni Association was successfully held

In order to contact alumni, serve alumni, and build a cross industry alumni exchange platform, the branch of School of Statistics and Data Science of the Alumni Association of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics held the second "Alumni Salon" on March 15, 2025 in the financial space No. 7 of the Pearl River Garden. The activity focused on the application and development of AI model in the securities investment industry, as well as the macro environment and industrial trends faced by technology stocks.


The keynote speaker, Dr. Zhang Qing from the R&D department of Oriental Securities, gave a comprehensive and in-depth presentation on the exploration and research of cutting-edge AI technologies in the financial industry. He focused on introducing the construction of Dongfang Securities' self-developed big language model "Dongfang Brain", and shared with the attending alumni the panoramic view of leading institutions in the industry from infrastructure and basic capacity construction to industry application scenario expansion. It demonstrates the powerful capabilities of "Oriental Brain" in investment research decision-making, assisted trading, risk control compliance, OA intelligent Q&A. Dr. Zhang Qing concluded that with the continuous maturity of technology and the improvement of industry demand, the application of AI in the financial field will be further deepened, injecting new vitality into the development of the industry.


The keynote speaker, Dr. Li Zhijun, founder of Shanghai Caijie Asset Management Co., Ltd., had an in-depth discussion with attending alumni on the macro and micro perspectives of technology stock market trends. He pointed out that the rapid development of new energy and artificial intelligence technology may drive the global economy into a new wave of recovery in the Kangbo cycle. At the industry level, he used the new energy battery and humanoid robot industries as examples to explain the breakthrough points of core technologies and their market prospects. Dr. Li Zhijun, based on solid and comprehensive data analysis, presented to the attending alumni the different stages of development of Chinese and American technology stocks, explored the logic and driving forces behind the valuation changes of Chinese and American technology stocks, and further shared the future evolution prospects of Chinese technology stocks.

In the discussion session, the keynote speaker and alumni exchanged ideas and raised their own questions or insights, freely discussing and inspiring each other around the illusion problem in AI applications, the collapse of original abilities caused by cross domain learning of AI big models, and the big data pollution that may be encountered in the application of AI big models. Through the analysis of the keynote speaker and the enthusiastic discussion of the attending alumni, the horizons and understanding of all participants were expanded.

This event not only enhanced the cohesion among alumni, but also provided valuable opportunities for them to collide their thinking. The Alumni Branch of Future College will continue to carry out a variety of alumni activities with alumni as the main body, interests as the core, and communication as the purpose.
