---The Application of Scalable Thinking in Statistical Theory and Methods in the Age of Big Data
On May 18, 2021, at this industry forum, we invited Yao Bing, co-founder of Mairong Intelligent Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., to give a lecture on the theme of "Extended Thinking in the Application of Statistical Theory and Methods in the Big Data Era".
Teacher Yao Bing is a co-founder of Mairong Intelligent Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., a member of the Enterprise Intelligence Application Technology Special Committee of the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Society, a member of the Yangpu District Science and Technology Finance Federation, an external enterprise expert of the Jilin Rural Credit Cooperatives Federation, and an external enterprise expert of the School of Management of Dalian University of Technology. Teacher Yao Bing has been engaged in financial enterprise services for over 20 years, fully participating in the reform of China's financial industry for 20 years. He has served 11 domestic joint-stock banks, more than 80 urban commercial banks, and more than 300 rural commercial banks. He witnessed the entire process of the financial industry's transformation from manual to electronic, from electronic to systematic, from systematic to digital, and from digital to intelligent. Through the construction of systems engineering methodology, he has promoted the steady and rapid growth of multiple banks.

To do a good job, one must first sharpen their tools. The focus of this forum is to share methods for transforming individual thinking in the future direction of social development, as well as how statistics can intervene, influence, promote, and ultimately have a huge impact on social progress.
Firstly, Teacher Yao Bing introduced us to extensible thinking. Thinking determines the direction of one's life, and the importance of thinking ability lies in the ability to summarize one's own judgments and ideas to achieve the ultimate goal. Then, the analytical method of clearly recording and controlling one's thinking in a multidimensional space can be determined in place to realize one's life dreams. Therefore, it will generate extraordinary hierarchical effects and a sense of achievement based on level differences. In the era of big data, we need to be able to draw analogies and think deeply when looking at problems, not just superficially.
Secondly, Teacher Yao Bing summarized the basic understanding of statistical theory and methods. The application of statistical methods in daily life is extremely extensive and has had a huge impact, so we should emphasize the importance of statistics. Statistics involves a large amount of specialized knowledge from mathematics and other disciplines, with applications covering almost all fields of natural and social sciences. In the era of big data, statistics have promoted social change, playing a driving role in people's lives, the development of things, the growth of organisms, and the progress of human society's intelligence.

Then, Teacher Yao Bing introduced the characteristics of the big data era. Data has penetrated into every industry and business functional area today, becoming an important production factor. The mining and utilization of massive data by people heralds the arrival of a new wave of production-oriented growth and consumer surplus waste. The whole society is promoting digitization, and everything can be transformed into numbers, which is the characteristic of the big data era.
Finally, based on personal experience and insights, Teacher Yao Bing shared his own experience and outlook for the future with us. He believes that we should possess five basic abilities, including communication skills, adaptability, resilience, data collection skills, and integration skills, as well as five developmental abilities, including problem-solving skills, goal adjustment skills, self comfort skills, control skills, and adaptability. Regarding how to apply statistics to real life in the new era, Teacher Yao Bing provides a summary of three beliefs, two persistence, and three cognition. Believe firmly that everything is measurable, believe firmly that everything is predictable, and believe firmly that everything is possible; Adhere to the spirit of continuous research and the combination of theory and practical scenarios; Basic theoretical knowledge learning should be extensive, spending 99% of energy to improve 1% reliability, and not underestimating the influence of any dimension.
After the meeting, the students actively asked questions and interacted with the teacher. Teacher Yao Bing provided detailed answers to the students' questions. Through this industry forum, students have gained a deeper understanding of how to apply the knowledge they have learned in school to real-life situations.
