01 written at the beginning
Time flies, time flies like a shuttle, and in the blink of an eye, the four years have come to an end. Standing at the threshold of graduation, looking back on my four years of college life, my heart is filled with complex emotions. My college journey was not smooth sailing, especially in the first two years when I experienced a period of confusion and exploration. At that time, I didn't fully devote myself to studying and spent a lot of time in the world of games. Looking back now, I deeply regret not realizing the importance of fundamental knowledge for undergraduate studies.
Fortunately, after undergoing profound reflection, I changed my mindset and began to focus more on my studies. Through unremitting efforts, I not only made significant progress in my subsequent studies, but also successfully passed the postgraduate entrance examination at Fudan University. It can be said that my journey of taking the postgraduate entrance examination started from a true "zero foundation". At first, I was very unfamiliar with the basic concepts of advanced mathematics such as limits and integral solving, and could even be said to have only a partial understanding. I hope my experience can provide some inspiration for students on their way to graduate school and overcome anxiety.
02 Busy and Busy
Although my academic performance was not outstanding in the first two years of my undergraduate studies, my extracurricular activities were rich and diverse. I have served as the head of the "Xingjia" department at the School Student Union Volunteer Service Center; As a member of the college basketball team, train with teammates; I also participated in volunteer service for the "Fuxing Run" marathon and the Shanghai Women's Half Marathon; During the epidemic, as the building manager, responsible for coordinating the epidemic prevention work inside the building; In addition, it also participated in the school and city competitions of the 2021 National College Student Mathematical Modeling Competition, as well as the 2022 College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project; I also took a minor in computer science. I have been busy for over two years, but I have not achieved any significant accomplishments. Even my minor was dropped in the second semester of my junior year. Due to the situation of failing courses and retaking them in my freshman year, I have been determined to take the postgraduate entrance examination since then. But this kind of thinking has also become an excuse for my idea that "grades are not important, courses don't matter". Fortunately, in my junior year, I promptly changed my mindset.
The road to postgraduate entrance examination is long and winding
Although I only started reviewing in May, my foundation was not solid and time seemed tight. However, after more than six months of effort, I gradually realized that the key to success in the postgraduate entrance examination is not the length of review time, but the coherence and frequency of learning. I realized that even if the review time lasts for more than a year, if there are frequent interruptions during the learning process, the effect is not satisfactory. I am not denying the value of starting review early, but I want to emphasize that once you start reviewing for the postgraduate entrance examination, you should maintain continuity of learning and avoid long interruptions. After all, graduate exams cover a wide range of knowledge points, and to master and pass the exam within a year or even six months, coherent learning is crucial. Through more than half a year of persistence and effort, I have deeply realized that taking the postgraduate entrance examination is not only a test of knowledge mastery, but also a challenge to learning attitude and methods. Only by maintaining coherence in learning, arranging time reasonably, and improving learning efficiency can we make significant progress within a limited time and achieve the goal of taking the postgraduate entrance examination. Of course, on the other hand, even if we start relatively late, if we can ensure consistent learning, I believe our classmates can still achieve ideal grades. Don't be anxious because you are later than others, maintaining a good mentality is an important part.
04 Qingzhou has crossed Mount Wanzhong
In my study of graduate entrance exams, I have come to understand the importance of fundamental knowledge more and more. If you haven't learned your math well, you won't be able to calculate the expected variance, let alone consider time series and multivariate statistics. This is also the biggest regret of my four years of undergraduate studies. So, seeing this sharing, if it's still early, it's recommended to lay a solid foundation; If you are already facing the decision of whether to take the postgraduate entrance examination, there is no need to worry. It is not too late to start studying seriously from now on.
