Li Zelin said, "Graduation is a story of millions of summers, millions of people, millions of different summers. The same is just summer, the same is just farewell." And this June, the people who parted became us.
I am honored to leave a memoir during graduation season. First of all, let me talk about my four years in college. Overall, it was very challenging and meaningful. As a newcomer in my freshman year, I was filled with curiosity about everything about university. I still vividly remember the nervousness and anticipation I had during the first student union interview, and I am grateful to Sister Kaiyue and Brother Yuan for allowing me to join the external liaison family. I have served as class monitor, president of Hanfu Society, and also made the "Golden Wing Cup" micro movie. I participated in the school etiquette department and volunteer activities of the Financial Technology Alumni Association. In my junior year, I went to Columbia University in the United States for an exchange semester. Of course, they also participated in competitions such as the "Zhixing Cup", Guanghua Case Analysis Competition, and Mathematical Modeling, and finally successfully received offers from the Management Institute and Qing Ge.
While waiting at the traffic lights at the entrance of Wudong Road that day, I suddenly felt a sense of confusion. For many days and nights, I hurriedly shuttled between these two campuses since my freshman year, heading to the swimming pool and library across the street I still remember the scene of waiting for a bus here at 3am in 2022 due to the pandemic. I have seen the hazy sky from this perspective and the dim yellow lights of the library from afar There are many, many scenes, but I am now standing at a crossroads leading to the next stage of my life. I want to thank those who have helped me during this process. Meeting you is my luck.
The road ahead is long and bright
The novelty and busy schedule of my freshman year allowed me to quickly adapt to the new environment and meet many interesting people, but at the same time, I also became a true borderline graduate student. Starting from my sophomore year, I focused more on my studies and spent most of my time shuttling between classrooms, dormitories, canteens, and libraries. At the same time, he also participated in various competitions and served as the president of Hanfu Society, becoming a "time management master" in a sense. He ranked second in his major and received the Shanghai Scholarship and the Tailong Bank Scholarship.
In my junior year, I went to Columbia University for an exchange program, which was also a highlight of my four years in college. Don't worry about the pressure of job hunting, explore various cities on the basis of completing daily workloads at Columbia University. I took four elective courses, three in the field of data science and one in finance. Although I didn't adapt well at first, the relaxed classroom atmosphere and patient and enthusiastic professors at Columbia University allowed me to quickly adapt to the new environment. Through group discussions and projects, I also deepened my understanding of the courses. I joined the International English Group and had weekend dinners with friends from various countries, such as Apple Picking, seeing maple leaves at Big Bear Mountain, volunteering at The Symphony Chorus, listening to opera on Broadway, boating in Central Park, and shopping on Fifth Avenue... I tried my best to experience every little bit of New York. When you come to New York, you will magically discover that the pedestrians rushing back and forth on Wall Street and the people singing and reading in Central Park are truly coexisting in this city. Even an elderly person watching the sunset alone on a beach in Miami can teach you something.
I am also very fortunate to have met Chinese friends during my exchange at Columbia University. I will always remember the time when Mercedes Benz listened to Soles of My Shoes while watching the pink and purple sunset on the highway in Las Vegas, trembled in the cold wind on the Corolla Mountains but still laughed and cheered, and cheered to watch NBA games live... Overall, this life is unforgettable for me and I look forward to meeting again.
This exchange experience also made me realize that we need to see the world, travel every path in the world, read the sorrows and joys of strangers with different experiences, experience life, and pursue the stars in our souls. And the rich resume in the first three years also allowed me to pursue a master's degree in finance as I wished. Thank you to the School of Management at Fudan University for recognizing me.
You will become, you will gain, you will grow into a towering tree, and all of this has nothing to do with the wind and rain outside
