Foreword
The seasons flow like water, and in the blink of an eye, it's graduation season again. How to live a fulfilling life in college? My answer is to learn how to think. Through profound thinking, establish a deep understanding of the world, its origins, and universality, face various differences and objections with greater tolerance, view life from multiple perspectives, dare to challenge authority and change oneself, follow the call of the heart, bravely face the changes of the times with thoughts and actions, and explore diverse life possibilities.

Success comes from thought, but failure follows
I came to the School of Statistics due to the strong recommendation of my senior students when filling out my college application for the college entrance examination, and my understanding of statistics is limited to the "applied mathematics branch". Driven by curiosity about my major and college life, I embarked on this journey of exploration. The pressure of the first semester's courses was not very high, so I started to actively choose my own enjoyment of life. I made many friends in the college student union, held two cross school activities, and also participated in activities such as One Meter Sunshine and Looking at the World. But the final exam ranking in the first semester was only around the top 15% of the grade, which did not reach the recommended admission rate of 2019. This made me start thinking about my future plans and goals for college life. In the second semester of my freshman year, I face three choices: entering an experimental class, transferring majors, and taking minor courses. Entering the experimental class means that the courses I am studying are closer to the training mode of academic statistical talents, and I do not have a strong passion for academia, so I chose to voluntarily withdraw during the public notice period; Transferring majors means that it is difficult to receive systematic statistical theory learning and practical application opportunities during undergraduate studies; Minor studies meant that it would distract some of my professional learning energy, so I ultimately chose to major in Economic Statistics.
After four semesters of study, my GPA has risen from the top 15% to the top 3% of my grade. Through communication with senior students, I realized that I have the opportunity to pursue further studies at domestic universities such as Tsinghua University and Peking University. In addition, I have the idea of finding employment in China, so I have made international recommendation my goal for my junior year. The third year of college is the fastest year for personal growth, as well as the year with the most goals, direction, and motivation. From studying professional courses in the first semester of my junior year to preparing for recommended admission in the second semester, I constantly compare myself with the gap between myself and my goals, and make up for my shortcomings. Recommendation is a competition of strength and psychology, often feeling that "plans cannot keep up with changes". The originally set application and offer goals may have to be adjusted in order to reduce risks or maximize returns due to factors such as not being admitted, being rejected upon admission, rule adjustments, and new situation judgments. I am very fortunate to have landed my dream project in June as a Buddhist recommendation candidate, and I have also made many excellent friends during the recommendation process.

Through four years of study, I have come to realize the trends of technological innovation and their impact on business, as well as the importance for statistics students to grasp the impact of business ideas and models in the era of big data and respond decisively. At the same time, possessing independent thinking and a positive spirit is the most valuable aspect of being a college student as artificial intelligence becomes smarter than humans in more and more fields. During my graduate studies, I will pursue further studies in the field of business analysis at Guanghua School of Management, Peking University. I look forward to becoming a more responsible, compassionate, and dedicated individual in Yanyuan.

Graduation Thoughts
Four years have passed slowly like a dream, and now we are about to bid farewell to wealth. Everywhere we look, there are memories, and wherever our hearts go, there are memories of the past. There is growth, reluctance, and gratitude. I am grateful to my parents for their support, tolerance, and understanding. I am grateful to my seniors, sisters, and friends who helped me during my undergraduate studies. I am also grateful for every choice, every attempt, and every perseverance I have made. Wishing the University of Finance and Economics and its colleges continued success, wishing all teachers good health and smooth work, and wishing every student to maintain their passion and bravely embark on the next journey.
