On the afternoon of December 6, 2016, Professor Wang Shiquan, Director of the Leadership and Communication Research Center at Pudong Cadre College in China, was invited to the School of Statistics and Management to give a lecture to students from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics on the topic of "; Modernization of Chinese Culture and International Communication; The themed lecture. Professor Wang is a member of the China International Public Relations Association, the International Leadership Association, and the International Exchange Association. He has also worked at the Shanghai Municipal Government Information Office and the Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, and has visited more than ten countries including the United States, France, and the Netherlands. He has a profound understanding and unique insights into the modernization and international dissemination of Chinese culture. This lecture was hosted by Professor Wang Ti, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch of the School of Statistics and Management, and attracted more than 120 teachers and students to attend.

Firstly, Professor Wang will explain the main connotations and characteristics of Chinese culture from a traditional perspective. Students grew up in the context of traditional Chinese culture, but there are still many areas where they do not understand its connotations. He used logical clues to connect, first explaining the basic concepts, then explaining the background and conditions of the emergence of Chinese culture, and then discussing the main classifications and connotations of Chinese culture from the perspectives of philosophy, religion, faith, etc. Finally, he summarized the main characteristics of Chinese culture -; — Early maturity, unity, peace, introspection, and values; — Avenue.

Secondly, Professor Wang began to talk about the historical background, focusing on the modern world and explaining in detail the impact of globalization and informatization on culture. Subsequently, Professor Wang combined the previous discussions and focused on the theme, explaining how Chinese culture adapts to the tide of modernization and how to better spread internationally. Detailed introduction of the principles and fields, value goals, and paths of modernization of Chinese culture; In terms of international communication, it systematically explains its necessity, characteristics, conditions, channels, carriers, etc.

Finally, Professor Wang put forward some thought-provoking content, including prospects for the transformation and innovation of Chinese culture, as well as a sense of mission and responsibility for contemporary college students.
