In recent years, the construction of urban culture in China has been flourishing, and the development and construction of the North Bund has also taken off comprehensively. On the new journey, the improvement of urban modernization level cannot be separated from cultural confidence and the inheritance and development of historical culture. At the same time, it also requires the innovation and continuous improvement of urban cultural content. General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that "cities are people's cities, and people's cities are for the people." Cultural construction in the new era must be centered on the people. How to strengthen cultural confidence in the construction of the North Bund culture? How to balance historical context and urban development? How to meet the needs of the people for a better life?
The research group on "North Bund Cultural Construction Research - Discussion on the Renewal of Shanghai Neighborhoods" composed of teachers and students from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics has provided their suggestions for cultural construction and neighborhood renewal issues through solid field research, in-depth data mining, and diverse analysis, and has made their modest contribution to cultural inheritance in the new era. At present, the project has won the third prize in the on campus selection of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in the 18th "Challenge Cup" National College Students' Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition, and has been shortlisted for the Shanghai finals.
Cultural map, online exploration of the development trajectory of urban culture
From urban memory to diplomatic turmoil, from industrial memory to maritime ark, the research team conducted in-depth urban theoretical research, not only presenting the long history and rich cultural heritage of the North Bund area, allowing people to have a deep understanding of its historical evolution and cultural heritage, but also showcasing the development direction and planning vision of the North Bund, leading the sustainable development of the North Bund and promoting the prosperity and innovation of urban culture.

Data analysis to uncover the mysteries behind the updates of neighborhoods in the neighborhood
The research report shows that the revitalization of old style neighborhoods is an important path for inheriting the historical and cultural heritage of the region. The Shanghai Municipal Government has issued various regulations, plans, and measures over the past 20 years, establishing a relatively complete mechanism for protection and utilization. However, there are still pain points in the neighborhood updates. In the study of existing cases of neighborhood renewal in alleyways, project team members believe that "the protection and renewal of alleyways are quite effective, but how to balance commercialization and historical building protection requires us to find the satisfaction mechanism behind it, in order to find a balance point." Through professional means of data analysis and visualization, project team members strive to find a balance point between preserving urban memory, historical context, and urban development.
In depth interviews to explore the intelligent support behind urban renewal
In addition to historical tracing guided by theoretical analysis, questionnaire survey analysis, and case comparison, the project team also conducted a large number of in-depth interviews to comprehensively study the historical culture, commercial behavior, and cultural activities of the North Bund, and explore the historical and cultural heritage contained in the "One River, One River" and the policy support behind it. A professor from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University evaluated the achievements of the project team by combining the theories and methods of statistics, economics, and urban renewal disciplines well, demonstrating innovation in methods and good practical reference value in conclusions.
In the research on the cultural construction of the North Bund, the in-depth study and efforts of the "Research on the Cultural Construction of the North Bund - Discussion on the Renewal of Shanghai's Neighborhoods" research group have provided important references for the historical and cultural protection and future development of the North Bund. We hope to further deepen the public's understanding and appreciation of the history and culture of the North Bund through research, and inspire people's love and attention to this land. Let's work together to create a city cultural area based on historical context, embracing the people, and full of charm and vitality, "the project leader summarized.
