Under the joint guidance of Professor Wu Chunjie from the School of Statistics and Management and Associate Researcher Huang Feng from the School of Economics, the project team of "Digital Enabling Healthy China Strategy - Current Situation and Prospects of Internet Diagnosis and Treatment Development" visited several hospitals in Shanghai. Through in-depth interviews with doctors from different departments, they learned about doctors' cognition and willingness to participate in Internet diagnosis and treatment, their actual work conditions and feelings, found problems in the process of Internet diagnosis and treatment, and provided positive and feasible suggestions for the government and all participants in Internet diagnosis and treatment. At present, the project has won the second prize in the on campus selection of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in the 18th "Challenge Cup" National College Students' Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition, and has been shortlisted for the Shanghai finals.
Through in-depth interviews, the project team found that doctors have a common understanding of the advantages of online consultation and Internet hospitals. Its advantages lie in providing convenience for patients, saving patients' time costs and money costs, and benefiting patients. The main bottleneck problem is that doctors' online consultation income is relatively low, the level of mutual trust between doctors and patients is not as high as offline, and the enthusiasm of doctors is not high. And the specific reasons for the lack of willingness and enthusiasm of doctors to participate can be attributed to insufficient time and energy, the risk of misdiagnosis, and a lack of assistance personnel. Further, for high-level hospitals, the project team proposed to strengthen the formulation of technical specifications, promote data sharing and exchange between different platforms, actively train doctors in Internet diagnosis and treatment skills, and improve the quality of medical services; For grass-roots hospitals, the project team proposed that the government and society should increase support to provide more funds, equipment and network support for the Internet diagnosis and treatment business of grass-roots hospitals.
The Internet has broken the time and space constraints in the medical field and proposed new solutions to alleviate the contradiction between the people's growing medical needs and unbalanced development. From telemedicine to Internet hospital and online diagnosis and treatment, the development process spans two stages, and then to the wave of the COVID-19, China's Internet medicine is in the critical transition period from 2.0 to 3.0. Judging from the achievements made at this stage, the future is undoubtedly a "blue ocean". However, even so, there is still a lot of room for growth, and we need to face the problems squarely, adjust the pace of development, in order to achieve the grand blueprint of building a "Healthy China".
