In order to further promote the construction of "first-class disciplines", deepen the training mode of academic top talents in our college, stimulate students' enthusiasm, initiative and creativity in learning, cultivate students' scientific research ability and innovative spirit, the School of Statistics and Management has established the "Academic Top Research Training Program" and opened a professional literature reading training module to broaden students' knowledge horizons and lay a foundation for subsequent scientific research training.
On March 19th, the first lecture of professional literature reading training was held in Conference Room 1208 of the School of Statistics and Management. This lecture was led by Professor Zhu Qianqian, covering topics such as time series problems, project proposal writing, professional literature reading and sharing, as well as future life planning. It provided valuable academic guidance and methodological support for the students.
In the latter half of the lecture, Teacher Zhu provided a detailed introduction to the ways and methods of obtaining professional literature. She recommended some commonly used website databases to help students obtain the required literature more efficiently, and emphasized the importance of paying attention to basic literature and the latest research. In terms of research motivation, Teacher Zhu suggests that students pay attention to reading relevant literature reviews and learn to extract contributions and innovative points from the literature. She mentioned that intensive reading and repeated study are key links to improving research level, and encouraged students to try simulation research and empirical methods, comparing the advantages and disadvantages of new methods with traditional methods. Finally, Teacher Zhu also shared advice on the use of monographs and code packages with the students, encouraging them to maintain active thinking and critical thinking during the research process, and continuously improve their research methods and skills.

I attended a literature reading training lecture given by Professor Zhu Qianqian today and deeply felt that I gained a lot from it. The lecture content is easy to understand, from determining the research field and selecting data, to writing reviews and referencing standards, to skills and methods for searching and reading literature, all of which are relevant to the scientific research I am about to attempt
