n order to further promote the construction of "first-class disciplines", deepen the training mode of academic top talents in our college, stimulate students' enthusiasm, initiative and creativity in learning, cultivate students' scientific research ability and innovative spirit, the School of Statistics and Management has specially established the "Academic Top Research Training Program". The 2022 Top notch Scientific Research Training Program for the Statistics Experimental Class was launched in April 2024 and completed professional literature reading training. It has now entered the stage of professional literature reporting and exhibition.
On the afternoon of June 11th, the professional literature presentation of the 2024 Top notch Research Training Program project was held in Room 207 of Sanjiao. This event specially invited teachers You Jinhong, Liu Xu, and Qiu Yixuan from the School of Statistics and Management to serve as judges. A total of 14 project teams participated in this event, aiming to review students' literature reading training results through literature reports, laying a solid foundation for the entire academic top-notch research training project, and further stimulating students' learning enthusiasm.
In the presentation session, each group of students gave a detailed introduction of their gains and reflections on literature reading around their respective topics. By reading relevant literature, students sorted out the core points and cutting-edge trends of the topic, and vividly explained them with examples.
The three reviewing teachers, with their profound academic backgrounds and rich research experience, provided valuable suggestions and guidance for students' literature reports. The teachers provided careful and detailed comments on the reports of each group of students, not only pointing out the highlights and shortcomings of the reports, but also giving specific suggestions on how to further research and improve research abilities.
This professional literature presentation provides students with a platform to showcase research results and exchange academic viewpoints. Through extensive literature reading and professional research training, students can be exposed to the latest academic trends and cutting-edge knowledge, thereby broadening their academic horizons and enhancing their research abilities.
In the future, our college will continue to adhere to the principle of "people-oriented" and rely on the Shanghai First Class Undergraduate Construction Leading Plan project to further strengthen the undergraduate training mode of solid foundation and broad vision, enhance students' ability to choose diversified development, and focus on building undergraduate "practical innovation training platform" and "professional scientific research training platform". Continue to implement and promote the undergraduate life mentor system, vigorously support students to participate in various scientific research and innovation projects, and cultivate first-class composite statistical talents.
