On the evening of December 4, 2025, with warm applause and cheers, the "Youth Striving, New Voice of Time" Shanghai University of Finance and Economics commemorative event for the 90th anniversary of the "December 9th" Movement and the 21st "Blue Garden Cup" Campus Choral Competition successfully concluded at the School Art Center.
In this choir competition, the School of Statistics and Data Science performed two distinctive works, "With Me" and "Guests from afar, please stay". The students meticulously polished the details with statistical rigor, infused emotions with sincere enthusiasm, and ultimately won the third prize with moving harmonies and youthful charm!
Under the spotlight, students from the Institute of Statistics use their singing to outline the charm of the times. The song 'With Me' incorporates the patriotism of young people into its passionate singing, and every word bursts with the sense of responsibility that 'a strong country has me'; Instead, with lively harmonies, the melody of "Guests from afar, please stay" showcases ethnic customs, and the clear voice hides an open and inclusive heart, narrating the enthusiasm that transcends mountains and seas.
From warm invitations to youthful declarations, emotions are rich and constantly progressing. The team members have upright postures, firm eyes, and seamless coordination between their voices. Countless days and nights of continuous practice burst forth at this moment, integrating the qualities of statistical people seeking truth and practicality into the ups and downs of the melody, allowing the theme of "youthful progress" to take root in the singing. This is not just a combination of notes and melody, but also a vivid manifestation of students working together.
The stage glory of the Tongyuan Choral Team cannot be achieved without the joint efforts of the teachers, students, performers, and professional teams. In this choir competition, we are honored to invite Vice President Jin Yuying, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee Zhuang Mei, and "My Good Teacher" Zhu Qianqian to perform as guest singers, singing the melody side by side with our classmates and using warm companionship to unite the team. On the command post, the secretary of the Youth League Committee, Ms. Qu Lintong, led the entire venue with precise control, and every gesture conveyed rhythm and emotion steadily. The piano accompaniment was jointly completed by Song Leyi and Li Zimo, and the lively fingertips played the piano sound perfectly matched the singing, injecting full infectivity into the performance and achieving this wonderful presentation together.
